Great place to chill Out and Have a drink and some delicious stew. Comfy sofas upstairs, good coffee and the food is really really good.
Thursday went with friends and took part in quiz. We won. Good night out. Hard quiz.. 40 worth of drink vouchers to spend over next few days . Very busy. Good laugh.
We went to the Stew & Oyster as a small group having not visited before. The menu was really interesting with a great range of stews sadly they had just sold out of a really nice looking chicken and chorizo! I went for an Italian meatball which was lovely, came in a single serving stew pot complete with lid which was a nice touch and a huge hunk of a crusty bread! It had great flavour and a really good portion full of meatballs :) would definitely recommend and the price was really reasonable at under 8! Nice ale on tap and good food will be going back!
Nice and helpful staff. Good choice of lagers. Good food, we had some stews, meat and cheese platter, meatballs and sausages. All good but on the end we've been faced with not fair extra charge for meat when cheese wasn't available. Anyway good and nice, fine atmosphere. We really enjoyed it.
We visited on Thursday and there was only one other couple in the restaurant. We had the lamb stew and it was wonderful, nice bread and butter came with the meal, we ordered extra potatoes X 2, one lot would have been enough. Our tea came with free brownies which were to die for!! Worth a visit for these alone. We will definitely be going again to try the other stews
